On February 12, 2019 Arvada Elks ENF Grant Writer Bob Plamondon and Veteran Chair Pete Frank meet with the Colorado National Guard Family Assistance Program Board of Directors to present them a check for $2500. The money for this donation came partially from the Elks National Foundation Beacon Grant and from the generous support of the Arvada Elks. All funds for the FAP are donated through various organizations and are used specifically for Guardsmen and their Families as Zero Interest Loans for Emergency Funds. The Guardsmen are required to pay the money back and can only be used to help them through a tough financial moment. Arvada Elks have been active sponsors of this program over the last year and have donated more the $3500 in cash and we were also the last stop on the CONG Poker Run in August where we served almost 100 people late afternoon lunch/early dinner. We look forward to working closely with CONG in the future. Later this year the Cong and Colorado Elks will be announcing an “Adopt a Unit” program to support the families of Guardsmen who have been deployed. Thank You Arvada Elks for your continued support through Lodge events and ENF.
